Central Rescue & Rehab's mission is to RESCUE, REHABILITATE and REHOME companion animals of the Northeast.

Central Rescue & Reha b (CR&R) is a non-profit, MA 501c3 organization whose primary mission is to reduce the epidemic of pet overpopulation and the euthanasia of adoptable animals located in the Northeastern United States.

Central Rescue & Rehab is committed to promoting the general cause of adopting animals through local shelters and rescue organizations through education and training for both humans and animals.

CENTRAL RESCUE & REHAB'S "3 - R's"

1. RESCUE: Central Rescue & Rehab acts as a liaison between shelters and rescue organizations, providing assistance with transportation, temporary housing and foster care for animals in immediate need.

2. REHABILITATE: Central Rescue & Rehab will rehabilitate animals, medically and emotionally, to ready them for life in a permanent, loving home.

3. REHOME: Central Rescue & Rehab assists shelters and rescue organizations in the placement of animals through advertising and referrals. We use our website and other promotional activities on behalf of animals in need, including newsletters, in order to find qualified homes and ensure a successful placement.

Education is key, our programs include:

Training: We train humans to train their dogs. Working with adopters as well as folks with dogs with behavior issues, we help families keep their pets versus re-homing them.

Puppy and Dog Obedience: Private or group classes tailored especially for new adopters of rescue dogs are held evenings as well as weekdays.

Behavior Issues: Private or group classes for dogs with behavior issues are held evenings and weekdays.

Choosing the Right Dog for You: This program helps people select the appropriated dog that will fit their family’s energy and maintenance requirements.

PET-DEGREE School Program: Wendy LeSage and her dogs help children understand basic safety rules, dog care, grooming, and respect for our furry friends. Children who complete the class receive a PET-DEGREE that they can display with pride to their friends. This program is available to schools and after-school programs in Central Massachusetts. Our goal for the program is to preempt the problems between children and dogs that often lead to the decision to surrender or abandon the dog.
